Rails & Ales Festival, Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th July 2018
The 9th annual Rail Ale Festival run by the Battlefield Line in conjunction with Hinckley & Bosworth branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale.
From the first event, held in the booking hall at Shackerstone Station in 2010, this event has rapidly evolved into an official CAMRA beer festival running alongside a growing vintage rally favoured by enginemen and crews alike.
The ales are being served in the Goods Shed at Market Bosworth station and also from our Griddle Car on the trains.
Again this year, we are operating trains on Friday afternoon.
This year’s event features 80 real ales and 30 ciders & perries.
There will also be a Pimms and Prosecco Bar in the marquee at Market Bosworth.
To compliment the event, there will be other attractions at Market Bosworth, including up to 15 live steam road locomotives, a fairground organ, miniature traction engines, vintage commercial vehicles, trade stalls, hot and cold food and other displays.
There is even a Bouncy Castle for the children.
Steam road locomotives full size and miniatures.
On Friday and Saturday, free heritages buses will be running from Hinckley to Market Bosworth for the event. Timetable can be downloaded here.
Again there is live music and entertainment over the weekend;
On Friday and Saturday evenings we welcome back live entertainment from Dr Busker.
